      February 18th  |  10:00am -11:30am  |  $30  | Online
The Night of the Senses & The Night of the Soul
These two nights figure prominently in one thread of western spirituality, but what are they, what are their characteristics, and what purpose do they serve? This workshop will address these questions.

      February 22nd  |  12:00pm - 1:00pm
      Ash Wednesday Service
      &
      Ashes to Go

Join Christ the King Lutheran Church, West Campus on Memorial Drive, to recieve Ashes to Go if you are short on time. Full service is available for those wishing to deepen the start of their Lenten journey.

Ash Wednesday is the beginning of a journey, the journey to the Cross.  The Season of Lent is usually seen as a penitential season but rather than focusing on guilt, perhaps it is a time to focus on growing into who God calls us to be.  As we begin this Lenten season, let it be a season of growth, a season of letting go, a season of turning toward the life that God envisions for us. The world tells us to take everything we get in this life, to breathe in all there is.  But Ash Wednesday is the day when we begin to finally breathe out so that God can fill us yet again.

      February 25th  |  9:30am - 11:30am |  $30
      NEW BEGINNINGS
When God wants to do something new in your life, to give you a new beginning, are you able to surrender and let God direct your path? Let's explore what those barriers might be, preventing you from saying, "Yes" to being transformed according to God's plan.

      March 3rd  |  1:00pm - 4:00pm  |  $40
Exploring Spiritual Types in Spiritual Formation and Direction
      A Professional Developement Day
Drawing upon the seminal work of Corinne Ware ( in her book, Discover Your Spiritual Type), this workshop will see us exploring the basis and nature of four general spiritualities (emanating from primary orientations of a person’s head and heart), unpacking specific prayer forms amenable to each style, and fleshing out implications for spiritual direction – specific to each spiritual type as well as those seeking “balance.”

      Thursdays, March 2nd - 23rd  |  10:00am - 12:00pm  |  $30 each or $60 for all four classes
      Religiosity on Life Support
We live in a time that is filled with divisiveness and that has also seeped into our faith and the way we express it and journey through it.  What does it mean to say that you believe? Join us as we figure out a way to put these two—religion and spirituality—back together, not as competing factions, but as a way of creating bridges along our faith journey.

      March 16th  |  10:00am - 11:30am  |  $30  |  Online
Is This Life All There Is?
Faith tells us that the soul survives the death of the physical body, but is there secular evidence for this as well? This workshop discusses secular evidence for the ability of our consciousness to exist apart from our physical bodies as well as the implications of the available evidence for religious beliefs.

      April 15th  |  9:30am - 11:00am  |  $30
      Spiritual Biography
We’re often admonished to share our faith, but how? In this workshop we’ll learn and practice different approaches to recording the spiritual events in our lives and ways to preserve them to pass on to our children, grandchildren, and other significant people in our lives.

      April 22nd  |  9:30am - 11:30am  |  $30
      Road to Emmaus
“On that day…” the disciples had to get away from the suffering, fear and hopelessness. They took to the road…the Road to Emmaus. Sometimes we need a Road to Emmaus where we can turn to the God of the resurrection for answers. It is on the road where Jesus walks with us in our suffering, fear and hopelessness, helping us to make sense of the things around us.

      May 27th  |  9:30am -11:30am  |  $30
Resurrection in Moment, Resurrection in Movement
The week after Easter is a hard act to follow. Good Friday is not just some tragic event, cancelled out by the miracle of Easter; there is an intimate connection between the two. The Resurrection is the pivotal moment, but there is another act to follow…the occasion of the Pentecost where we are invited to put into action the love provided to us by God. Deepen your understanding of Easter as God’s resurrection moment and Pentecost as God’s resurrection movement!

      June 21st  |  9:30am - 11:30am  |  $30
      Choices
Through each heartache we experience we are brought closer to who we are meant to be.  How do you discern God’s plan for you through the choices you make? Are you bringing God into the choices you are making?  Recognizing the triggers that prevent you from turning to God, allows you to live in greater freedom.

    Spiritual Direction
    • Spiritual direction is a privileged time and place to reflect with another about your relationship with God. The focus is your life with God as it is lived out in all of your experiences. Spiritual direction is the process of coming home to your deepest self and how to live that reality with God, others and yourself.

The Emmaus Spirituality Center is committed to providing spiritual direction and programming in line with the spiritual practices of St. Ignatius.

As we look to find God in all things or explore our day through the Examen... St. Ignatius opens a beautiful pathway for us to experience a fuller relationship with our Creator.

    Spiritual Exercises
    • Spiritual Exercises is a retreat experience that has the power to transform lives by drawing one into the ever-present invitation to intimacy with God.  The dynamics of the Exercises provide a framework for prayer and reflection, engaging with Scripture and responding to the mystery of God, in Christ.

Guided by the notes that Ignatius of Loyola kept of his life-changing conversion experience, the director helps the retreatant to find their own unique path to inner freedom and generous service in a life centered in God's loving presence.
